Suzuki GSX-S1000 Custom Dyno Tune
Dave tunes a Suzuki GSX-S1000.
This fantastic naked motorcycle is powered by a revised version of the same engine found in the legendary K5 generation Suzuki GSX-R1000.
This engine, at the time, was adored for its massive bottom, midrange and top-end power. Still today, and among 200 plus horsepower motorcycles, this engine shines.
As stock, and perhaps helped along by its Vandemon Exhaust , the GSX-S1000 produced a healthy 145 horsepower, 8 or 9 runs later
After Dave’s magic tuning and fettling, we see some healthy gains, and the Suzuki GSX-S1000 topping out at an impressive 156 horsepower.
That’s an 11 horsepower gain!
While less headline-grabbing but arguably more important, we also see some healthy gains right where it matters, between 4000 and 8000 rpm. This is the part of the rpm range where most of us spend our time, so healthy gains here are most often felt.
